Veteran independent singer-songwriter Mirah will join us for a duo set in which she and a fellow musician share work from her vast collection of songs, with an opening set by Boston’s own Sidney Gish. Mirah’s 2018 album Understanding, her sixth full-length solo record and third release through her Absolute Magnitude Recordings, marks a return to her early, unconventional recording process, celebrating a spirited imperfection that embraces rough first takes, natural room sounds, and a fair amount of broken equipment. Singer-songwriter Gish, known for her wry humor, has released two albums: Ed Buys Houses and No Dogs Allowed.

Brooklyn-based Mirah, born Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlyn, has released more than a dozen solo and collaborative recordings in which she creates incorruptible independent pop music defined by her graceful songwriting and adventuresome recordings. Over the past twenty years, she has toured the United States, Europe, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand many times over. Pitchfork has praised her “incredible voice—a versatile coo that can flit from low, sultry tones to high, airy falsetto in one breath.”
Sidney Gish is a singer-songwriter and full-time student with a wry sense of humor in Boston, Mass. where she's been recording and releasing her own work since 2015. She dropped her first album, Ed Buys Houses, in December 2016 and No Dogs Allowed this year.
