In two decades on the road and multiple albums, Jeffrey Foucault has become one of the most distinctive voices in American music, refining a sound instantly recognizable for its simplicity and emotional power, a decidedly Midwestern amalgam of blues, country, rock’n’roll, and folk. He’s been lauded for “stark, literate songs that are as wide open as the landscape of his native Midwest” (New Yorker) and described as “quietly brilliant” (Irish Times). Don Henley regularly covers Foucault in his live set. Blood Brothers, Foucault’s sixth collection of original songs, showcases yet again his unrelenting dedication to craft and independence from trend.
Kris Delmhorst
Kris Delmhorst has forged a twenty-year songwriting career notable for a spirit of exploration and collaboration. Her most recent album, The Wild, was coproduced with her husband, fellow songwriter Jeffrey Foucault. It merges Delmhorst’s sophisticated melodies and hauntingly open voice with Foucault’s lean aesthetic to deliver a darkly hopeful, fiercely wise new collection of songs. Previously, Delmhorst released six full-length records on the respected indie label Signature Sounds.
