Ryan McGinley, recently named "the most important photographer in America" by GQ magazine, was twenty-five years old when he became the youngest artist to have a solo show at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 2003. Though based in New York, McGinley travels continuously throughout the United States to create work that incorporates nude figures within the American landscape. His work is in many prestigious collections, including those of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C.
The Open Studio will be an informal reception with Ryan's photos on display in the Hawthorne Barn. Learn more about his Twenty Summers residency here.
