Singer-songwriter Marissa Nadler is known for evocative music that blends traditional folk with ethereal soundscapes. Her hauntingly beautiful voice, according to Pitchfork, is one "you would follow straight into Hades." For more than twelve years, Nadler has perfected her own take on the exquisitely sculpted gothic American song form and has become a staple on indie labels Sacred Bones Records and Bella Union. The Boston-based musician began her career as a painter studying at Rhode Island School of Design, and she continues to make visual work, though her allegorically primal lyrics and melodic hooks are what distinguish her artistry today.
